Oklahoma City, this time of year, begins to take freezing its residents seriously. My two recent trips back to Los Angeles thwarted this process in my case; I missed both an ice storm that blacked out the city and a snowstorm that turned it white. At the moment it's a toasty 28oF, from 15 this a.m.
Back in Los Angeles, I quickly adapted and pulled on a jacket when it dropped below 60. Do that in OKC and you'll be wearing a parka everywhere but in the shower.
In OKC, this constitutes conversation. One discusses weather and college football. Now that the bowl games are over with (Happy New Year), it will be weather and college basketball.
There are restaurants and theatres here, but the weather is more varied and more interesting and dramatically viable.
